1965 Mustang Fastback "K" Code GT
This is a genuine factory GT. It is NOT a clone. The color is Rangoon Red. The engine is the 289/271 HP solid lifter V-8. The transmission is a 4 Speed top loader, and the rear end is the 9" with 3.89 gears. I have NO paper work to prove the "numbers match", as the engine and trans are not stamped, Ford did not do that on all engines and transmissions. The interior is the deluxe interior option, or what many people know as "Pony" interior. This is also a rally pac car.
The car was restored in 2000. Since then several tasteful modifications have been made with bolt on items, for the purists out there the car can easily be changed back to stock.
Here are the items that have been added to the car to enhance performance and safety. I have a binder full of receipts for these items totaling over $15,000: it is two inches thick.
• 4 wheel Wilwood 3 piston caliper vented disk brakes
• Total Control power rack-n-pinion steering
• Total Control tubular race inspired upper and lower A arms

This car has won over 40 trophies in the past two years. NOT just local shows either. It has won Best Mustang at Fun Ford Weekend events, People's Choice for two years in a row, and Best Mustang at Muscle Car Nationals.
The paint is gorgeous. There are no spider webs or scratches. There are 5-6 stone chips on the front of the car none larger than 2 mm, as the car is driven and not trailored to events. There are other imperfections in the paint but I guarantee I would have to point them out to you to find them.I have included some photos of those areas. I get asked at EVERY car show and cruise in "where is my trailer" as the car looks that good. It was made to be driven, not escorted around on a trailer.
The interior is like new with no rips or tears and the carpeting, dash pad are like new also.
The sheet metal is all original from what I can tell. The dimples are still in place under the hood, and the factory seams can be felt in the rear quarters through the trunk. The underside is as clean as the top of the car is. The rubber is still soft.
This car is a factory GT which makes it even more rare. Note the location of the fog lamp switch. The fog lights are mounted with a nut, and the tail lights turn on when you turn on the fog lights. Most car that have been cloned to be GT's the tail lamps don't come on. But the best "GT test" is due to the dual exhaust, the rear frame rails have an additional bracket between the inside rails where the rear exhaust hanger bolts go through the frame. The bracket can be felt (not seen) by inserting your finger into the alignment hole (for the trunk floors) in the rear of the frame rail and bending it toward the rear of the vehicle. This can't be faked or cloned. The bright lip molding is still intact and in 1965 only GT's came with this.
By the way, the only true test of a “K Code car besides the VIN stamp is the hole for the choke cable, only K code cars had manual chokes, the hole in the firewall must be stamped, not drilled! This car has that unique stamped hole! It’s the real deal folks!
Questions:
Do you have the original door tag?
Yes!
What factory stock parts go with the car?
The factory "stock parts" will go with the car: an intake manifold, radiator, alternator, air cleaner, dash bezel, gauge cluster, mufflers, steering wheel, oil pan, valve covers, the original pulleys, some clamps etc. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the rally pac. It was professionally restored and looks absolutely brand new. and NO I will not sell any of these items separately.
What items do NOT go with the car?
I do not have the dual point factory distributor, autolite carburetor, factory brakes, or styled steel wheels.
This car is for someone looking for a unique show winning automobile that can be driven. You won't be disappointed or believe how it performs and handles!
